Founded in 2016, Joey's PAW was inspired by the story of a resilient puppy named Joey, who lost his rear legs due to severe abuse at just six weeks old. After adopting Joey, our founders — Tanya and Charlie Diable — realized the critical need for funding prosthetics and wheelchairs for special-needs dogs. So they started this charity in his honor.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Joey's PAW is dedicated to improving the lives of not only disabled dogs, but all animals with special needs. Our passionate team of volunteers fundraises throughout the year, providing full or partial financial support for mobility devices that offer these animals a new lease on life.
We are also committed to changing the world's perception of special-needs dogs by showing the immense joy and companionship they bring. With the help of generous donors, we can ensure they receive properly designed wheelchairs or prosthetics and make a significant impact, one wagging tail at a time!
“I’ve learned that special-needs dogs are no different from any other; their love is unconditional, their spirit unbreakable, and their impact immeasurable.”
